Growing up in 1980's Teesside has bred a love of the industrial, the neglected and the resilience of nature to overcome all man made adversities. I am drawn to dated and historical structures but also wildlife and the sea. A result of having chemical works, moors and the North East coast on my adolescent doorstep.
I believe the removal of colour in my photography creates a focus on the subject, through a reliance on shapes, textures and naturally requests an application of the imagination... Which is never a bad thing.
